04.06.2021: UK Music has announced the line-up for the new conference on music education aimed at students who want to enter the music industry.
UK Music’s MAPping! the Future Conference will take place on the 16th June between 10.30am and 4.30pm.
The day offers UK Music an opportunity to share career advice and top tips with the next generation of the music industry.
UK Music Director of Education Oliver Morris, UK Music members and a range of amazing partners including Music & You, BIY People & Talent, BIMM, DiVA, PRS Foundation Talent Development Partners, English Folk Expo, KYOTO and Rock School will be sharing key information on starting a career in music.
The day will also see an exciting announcement for Music Academic Partnership (MAP) students from UK Music and our member the FAC.
The day starts with a keynote from Jack Williamson, founder and CEO of Music & You. Jack has been in the music industry for nearly 20 years, working in PR for record labels and artists. In 2017 he began to specialise in music and mental health. Before the pandemic struck he worked with Lewis Capaldi on his tour launching the LIVELIVE initiative to support concert-goers’ mental health at live events. Earlier this year he teamed up with the BBC to launch the BBC Radio 1 LIVE LOUNGE Introducing competition.
There will also be a massive range of other speakers on the day including Arlo Parks’ Artist & Manager Awards and BRIT Award winning manager Ali Raymond; Radio 1 and BBC Introducing DJ Jess Iszatt, Muse’s tour manager of 18 years Glen Rowe, Project & Event Manager, PRSF Power Up Participant and BRIT Awards Voting Academy member Eunice Obianagha; artists Frank Hamilton & Laura Lamn and many, many more!!
