We offer a BA (Hons) in Music Production, with a wide range of specialist modules to help broaden your appreciation of music and sound, and we teach you about – and help prepare you for – careers in both the traditional facets of the music industry and for emerging careers in music and audio. You’ll collaborate with other students and work on projects in a range of styles and genres as you focus on your songwriting, performance, and/or studio and live recording. And with our practical assessments and opportunities to gain real-world, hands-on career experience in our student-run radio station or record label, you can focus on what’s most important to you: making great music.
You’ll develop your craft in our purpose-built, on-campus studios and computer labs. Facilities for music production students are primarily located in our state-of-the-art £17m Creative Edge building. Our three recording studios, audio post-production studios, and editing suites come equipped with industry-standard hardware and software, and students have free access to a full complement of professional microphones, musical instruments, and other audio equipment for student use through our Media Store. There are also several dedicated rehearsal and practice rooms where you’ll find electronic keyboards, a range of acoustic and electric guitars, effects modules, practice amps, and a selection of grand and upright acoustic pianos.
