09.07.2025: UK Music welcomes the HarrisonParrott Foundation (HP Foundation) into our Music Academic Partnership (MAP) scheme in an exciting development for the network.
MAP was founded by UK Music to create stronger links between music educators and the music industry. Now celebrating its 10th year, the network includes a range of partners that represent many different parts of the music education landscape.
Having HP Foundation join MAP expands the membership to include an exciting charity working on promoting diversity and inclusion within the arts and improving access to music.
This new partnership between MAP and the HP Foundation launches with the annual symposium, this year exploring the theme: Opening the Stage: Equity, Excellence & the Next Generation of Music Talent, an all-day event held on 14 November 2025 at The Glasshouse, Gateshead. Organised in collaboration with MAP/UK Music, BBC Orchestras and Choirs, The Glasshouse and the HarrisonParrott Foundation, this flagship event sets the tone for our collaboration, bringing together education, industry, and policy to explore how we can collectively build a more equitable and sustainable future for music.
UK Music Director of Education and Skills Dr Oliver Morris said:
