27/07/17: Chief executive Michael Dugher took UK Music’s Save Our Venues campaign to Brighton to join forces with the Musicians’ Union at their conference.
He spoke to delegates about the “perfect storm” facing the music industry due to cuts to music education in schools and the threat facing many small venues.
‘It is vital that we rise to the challenge and fight to keep music alive in our schools and battle to save our fantastic music venues,” said Michael.
Afterwards, UK Music and the Musicians’ Union visited Brighton’s thriving Hope and Ruin to stress the importance of protecting small venues.
Michael’s keynote speech to the MU received widespread media coverage including in the I newspaper, Music Week, and M magazine.
