08.09.2022: UK Music has lined up a brilliant panel to discuss The Power of Music: Boosting People, Place and Prosperity at Labour’s annual conference.
The panel line-up in Liverpool will feature Shadow Secretary of State for the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Lucy Powell MP, Director of Culture, Liverpool City Council Claire McColgan OBE, Labour and Co-operative Councillor and award winning recording engineer Olga FitzRoy and Grammy and BRIT Award winning music producer Steve Levine. The event will be chaired by UK Music’s Chief Executive Jamie Njoku-Goodwin.
The discussion will take place on Monday September 26 from 1pm to 2pm at Grace Suite 3, Hilton Liverpool, L1 8LW. No conference passes are required to access. Refreshments will be provided.
The panel will focus on the economic impact of the music industry, and how it contributes to the UK’s GVA, exports and employment, as well as the country’s culture, community and wellbeing.
The event comes as UK Music prepares to launch its This Is Music economic report, which includes a five-point vision for music plan on how Government and the music industry can work together to bring in new jobs, better training and more opportunities across the country.
