25.09.2024: UK Music is heading to the Conservative Party conference in Birmingham where a panel of experts will discuss how the music industry can be supported to ensure its continued growth.

The panel line-up in Birmingham is set to include Caroline Dinenage MP, who is Chair of the Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee, Former DCMS Minister Lord Parkinson, Director of Policy and Engagement at Creative UK Lara Carmona and Chair of the UK Music Diversity Taskforce Ammo Talwar. UK Music Chief Executive Tom Kiehl will chair the event.

Entitled “How Can The Conservatives Support And Boost The UK Music Industry?”, the panel event will take place on Monday September 30 from 1pm-2.30pm in the Concerto Room at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Conference passes will be required as the hotel is within the secure zone.

The panel will consider how the Conservative Party can support the UK’s £7 billion music industry while in opposition. Topics covered may include touring in the EU, AI, music education, and exports.

The event will also offer the audience opportunities to ask questions to the experts.
