13.04.2026: Commencing Monday April 13, UK Music in partnership with National Careers Week and Music Academic Partnership (MAP) member LCCM has launched Music Careers Week, which is designed to encourage young people to consider careers in music. 

Working in partnership with the well-established National Careers Week and UK Music MAP member LCCM, which is running an event on the Monday to launch the week, we hope that the week will become a moment in the calendar for everyone involved in music and music education to share their stories and encourage the next generation.

The week will see a variety of resources and assets shared so look out for #MusicCareersWeek across social media channels. So, if you are involved in music education then take part by sharing information about what you do and maybe some student stories. And if you work in the industry then get involved by sharing a post on socials about what your job entails and maybe even create a short video demystifying what it is you do.

To celebrate Music Careers Week, UK Music is very proud to have created a wonderful film featuring our member PPL along with Dean Street Studios. The video shows students from MAP member City of Westminster College getting a chance to look behind the scenes and hear about different parts of the music industry. In the image above, artist and music producer Charlie Deakin Davies can be seen speaking to students about their career during the studio visit. The film was supported by Discover! Creative Careers and was filmed last November during Discover! Creative Careers Month.
