Remuneration: Competitive
Time Commitment: circa 3 days per month, varying through the year
Term: Three years (with option to extend)

Established in 2008, UK Music is the collective voice of the UK’s world-leading music industry. Representing all sectors of the industry, bringing them together to collaborate, campaign, champion music across government, industry, and society.

We are seeking a dynamic and influential Chair to lead our Board and serve as a prominent ambassador for UK Music in high-level government and policy-making arenas. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of one of the UK’s most vital cultural sectors. Working closely with the Chief Executive Officer, the Chair will guide the organisation’s strategic direction, strengthen collaboration across the music industry, and ensure UK Music remains a leading voice in policy, research and industry development.

You’ll be joining a respected organisation with a powerful advocacy platform, a committed membership, with a clear mission to collaborate, campaign and champion music.

We welcome applications from individuals with a combination of the following:

  • Deep understanding of the UK music industry and/or wider creative sector.
  • Insight into the political landscape and policymaking processes.
  • Appreciation of music’s cultural impact across the UK.

We recognise that candidates may not meet all requirements listed above, please note it is not essential to meet all at this stage.

You’ll be a skilled facilitator, able to navigate complex stakeholder relationships, drive consensus, and challenge traditional thinking with sound political, commercial, and financial judgement.

We are looking for an authentic leader with exceptional vision, strategic acumen, and a proven ability to build relationships at the highest level.
