05.01.2026: UK Music Chief Executive Tom Kiehl has congratulated those from the world of music recognised in the King’s 2026 New Year’s Honours list for their contribution to the sector.

Among those to receive an MBE were Ellie Goulding, Natalie Wade (Director of Music Engagement at PPL), Professor Michael Peter Alcorn, Bill Bailey, Alan A Craig, Cynthia Erivo, Janet Fischer, Eve Graham, Allison McKay, Richard Morrison, Mae Murray and Emma Rule.

OBE recipients included Karen Emanuel, Matthew Jones, Dr Harjinder Lallie and Phil Patterson.

CBE recipients included Max Richter and Richard Farnes, while Idris Elba received a Knighthood for services to young people.

Recipients of the British Empire Medal for music related activities in the New Years Honours list included Samantha Louise Abrahams, Alan Gilbert Brydon, Andrew John Cant, John Crombie, Marion Elizabeth Maxey, Canon John Thomas Naylor, Raymond Stockan Peace, Christopher John Mostyn Roberts, Erika Shearer and Sileas Sinclair.
