On Tuesday June 2nd UK Music joined the music industry in observing Black Out Tuesday and The Show Must Be Paused.

Our staff spent the day thinking about how as an organisation we could do better to support the black community, in particular those who are part of our industry and also those who want to be part of our industry, as well as our diverse community in general.

Following our discussions, we are developing measures to ensure that as an organisation we do better. We want to do this properly and take the time to really develop something that is effective.

The UK Music Diversity Taskforce will continue to be a platform for connection, discussion and action and we hope our upcoming Diversity Workforce Survey will not only highlight the progress we have made, but where we as an industry need to work harder.

In the meantime, we’d like to highlight the work of the following organisations.

Black Lives Matter
