07/06/2017: UK Music chief executive Michael Dugher has outlined some of the key policy areas that MPs and the next Government should address to ensure the music industry is in good shape ahead of the General Election.
Writing for The i newspaper, Michael focuses on the need to help venues, to address the digital “value gap” and to help touring musicians as we withdraw from the EU as some of the most important issues facing the sector.
They are among the areas tackled in UK Music's Music Manifesto 2017 which sets out the policies which would best serve the industry to make it thrive in the years ahead.
Drawing attention to the social importance of music, bringing people together at the One Love Manchester concert, he writes: “Music is always there for us – in moments of great joy and in our darkest hours”
