UK Music announces the return of our MAP tour

18/09/18: UK Music is excited to announce the return of our MAP tour for the 2018-19 academic year.

The tour’s first stop will be at the University of Hertfordshire’s Hatfield College Lane Campus on Thursday September 20 as part of their Fresher’s Week activities.

It takes place from 10:30am-12:30pm in Room B01 of the FMM Building.

The event will begin with an introduction by our Director of Education and Skills Oliver Morris, followed by a careers panel featuring Ninja (The Go! Team), Lenny Bedford (Head Of Content at Kycker) and Andrew Hunt (MPG Breakthrough Producer Award winner 2017).

This will be followed by a tech and business session with Lenny, who is well versed in visual content creation and branding. Lenny helps artists to map out their music videos and branding ideas, and creates all the social media assets and educational videos for Kycker. He is also involved in educational talks to music students at serval colleges around the UK. Lenny is also a musician, having played guitar in a number of bands and side projects over the past seven years.

Ninja will then conduct a careers presentation. She joined The Go! Team in 2004, was signed to Sony, Columbia and Virgin Records for UK, USA and Europe (respectively), before the band’s debut album Thunder, Lightning, Strike was nominated for a Mercury Prize in 2005. They have played every major music festival around the world, and their music has been used in movies, adverts, computer games and on TV such as Eastenders. Ninja has recently formed a new all girl rock band called Mob The Set.

Afterwards, MPG Breakthrough Producer 2017 award-winner Andrew Hunt will discuss the creative and technical aspects of getting tracks recorded, with added insight from an artist he works closely with – Ninja.

The session will finish with Q&As with all panellists.
