UK Music Announces Fantastic Music Events For Spring 2022

11.03.2022: UK Music Director of Education & Skills Dr. Oliver Morris is set to appear at a range of careers events this Spring to speak to students about careers in the music industry.

As part of our ground-breaking Music Academic Partnership (MAP), Oliver will be speaking at partner universities and public events. Many events will see students who attend MAP education institutions able to receive advice and information on working in the music industry.

Other events will see a range of attendees able to ask advice and find out more about routes into music such as apprenticeships and study.

 

The list of events includes:

Monday March 14

BIMM WrkIt North – Manchester

UK Music is contributing to a day of careers advice for BIMM students.

 

Tuesday March 15

BCU Artist Management Panel – Birmingham

UK Music have organised an artist management panel for BCU students with members FAC and MMF. The panel will feature managers and an artist to get the lowdown on how to carve a career in artist management and what artists should look for in a good manager.

 

Tuesday March 22

BIMM WrkIt South – London

UK Music is contributing to a day of careers advice for BIMM students.

 

Thursday March 24

Production Futures – Manchester

UK Music is contributing to a day of careers advice in Manchester working with Production Futures. Open to all.

 

Tuesday April 12

Production Futures – London

UK Music is contributing to a day of careers advice in Rose Bruford College, working with Production Futures.

 

Thursday April 14

Launchpad Leeds – Leeds

UK Music is contributing to a panel during Launchpad Leeds.

 

Wednesday May 4 & Thursday May 5

Sonic Herts – Hatfield and online

On 4th May UK Music is hosting an in-person panel on the Future of Work. On 5th May UK Music are facilitating an online session, Everything You Always Wanted To Know About Modular Synths (But Were Afraid To Ask), with composer Dominic Murcott.

 

Thursday May 12

Future Stars – online

UK Music will have a virtual booth at globalbridge’s Future Stars event. Oliver will be sharing information on careers in industry, including routes in such as apprenticeships and further study with UK Music’s MAP partners.

 

Friday May 18

Point Blank Careers Event – London

UK Music is working with MAP member Point Blank to create a careers day and evening of entertainment & networking at iconic club Fabric in London.
