20.05.2022: The Intellectual Property Office (IPO) has launched a fantastic set of online training tools, with help from UK Music and its members.   

The tools have been designed to help businesses, business advisors, students and lecturers, anyone wanting to learn more about Intellectual Property (IP).

They explain how IP works and what can be protected using patents, copyright, trade marks and designs, how to manage and use IP, consider IP within business planning and how to best leverage IP to protect investments and products.

UK Music’s Director of Education and Skills Dr. Oliver Morris said: 

“We were really pleased to feed into this important IP Education Framework developed by the IPO. An understanding of IP is absolutely key in music as it is in a wide variety of industries.

“To know that UK Music and our members will help inform educators and students throughout their education journey is a great feeling and very important for everyone who may be interested in a creative career – either in the creative industries themselves or as a creative in another industry!

“We have collaborated with the IPO on numerous projects bringing IP to life over the years from the app Music Inc to careers outreach and are excited to see the next step involve this IP Education Framework.”
