17.03.2023: We want to hear your views on the changes you want to see to help us grow and improve the music industry right across the UK.

As UK Music, we are the collective voice of the UK’s world-leading music industry, uniting all sectors to collaborate, campaign for, and champion music.

One of our key aims is to help drive jobs and growth in a sector that contributed £5.8 billion to the economy and employed almost 200,000 people pre-Covid.

We also want to ensure our industry is as inclusive and diverse as possible – and that people from every background and every region get the chance of a career in our fantastic industry.

That’s where we need your help! We are compiling a Music Manifesto and we really want to hear your views on what you would like to see to help the UK music industry thrive in the years ahead.

What are you most concerned about? Is it the threat to your local venue, dwindling access to music in schools, the soaring cost to musicians of touring or something else? Let us know.

Please complete our survey to share your thoughts, help us shape the future of the industry and develop the next generation of musical talent.

Your responses will be confidential and could help shape our Music Manifesto that we will take to the political leaders of all the main parties in the autumn.

Ahead of a likely General Election in 2024, our Music Manifesto will clearly set out to law-makers the changes we need to strengthen the music industry and help nurture the talent pipeline on which our sector relies.

UK Music produced manifestos for the 2010, 2015 and 2017 General Elections, and wrote an open letter to all political parties in 2019.

These initiatives made a huge difference to how music was addressed by political leaders and paved the way for vital legislation to protect venues, live music and important copyright rules.

Please send us your views by filling in the survey by Thursday April 6.

Together, we can help ensure the UK Music industry continues to grow, create jobs and rewarding careers – and remains the envy of the world.

Complete the survey here.
