16.06.2020: Paul McManus, Chief Executive of the Music Industries Association explains how music instrument shops are starting to reopen.

The Trade Body for the UK’s Music Instrument Shops, the Music Industries Association (MIA) is delighted to bring the news that a large number of English shops will be back in business this week.

The shops have been busy getting instruments to customers during lockdown through website sales and now look forward to safely welcoming customers back into the shop itself.

The shops are especially looking forward to seeing so many of the new musicians that have been created during the lockdown….starter instruments sales have rocketed whilst we have all been at home!

During this unprecedented time, many people have discovered (or re-discovered) the joy of making music, whether on their own or as a family.

All the shops have been given extensive information on matters such as safely trading and instrument hygiene and are now ready to serve the Countries’ musicians once again!

We naturally hope to bring you news about our shops in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
