The BRIT School


The BRIT School is the UK’s leading non-fee paying performing arts and technology school providing a unique free education for over 1,200 pupils aged between 14 and 19, from a wide range of backgrounds, aspirations and academic abilities.  Students specialise in Film & Media Production, Community Arts Practice, Dance, Interactive Digital Design,  Music, Musical Theatre, Technical Theatre Arts, Theatre or Visual Arts and Design, alongside the teaching of National Curriculum subjects at both GCSE and AS/A2 Level and BTEC vocational qualifications. Students can start either in Year 10 (aged 14) or Year 12 (aged 16). 

The school was built in Selhurst, Croydon 25 years ago, with the support of the Department for Education and the British Record Industry Trust and they continue to keep the School at the forefront of creative education.
Globally recognised alumni include Adele, Katy B, Loyle Carner, Gemma Cairney, Ella Eyre, FKA Twigs, Imogen Heap, Tom Holland (new Peter Parker/Spiderman), Jessie J, Leona Lewis, Katie Melua, Kate Nash, Kate Tempest, Rizzle Kicks, The Feeling, The Noisettes.

For last 3 years, a remarkable 99% of school leavers went onto higher education or training and employment.
