The British and Irish Modern Music Institute (BIMM) has colleges in six cities where music matters most – London, Berlin, Dublin, Manchester, Bristol and Brighton – and is proud to be the largest and leading provider of contemporary music education in the UK and Europe. Our six colleges have over 50 years’ experience between them in helping students launch successful and sustainable careers in the music industry.
We offer a broad range of Higher and Further Education modern music courses – including highly vocational, real-world degrees and diplomas in Guitar, Bass, Drums, Vocals, Songwriting, Music Production, Music Business, Event Management and Music Journalism.
BIMM students collaborate with some of the finest aspiring musicians and music industry professionals in the world, and are guided by a talented group of top-class tutors; every one of them still active in the contemporary music business and working to a syllabus honed and informed by the modern industry.
We connect our students to regular collaborative experiences, including Masterclasses hosted by internationally renowned guest artists, end-of-term gigs, A&R panels, the annual BIMM album, and participation in our summer festival work experience scheme which sees them set-up, run and perform at these events, taking care of everything from stage management and live sound to on-site reporting. Plus we have a dedicated career planning and support programme which provides our students with ongoing engagement with the industry, work placements, internships, CV advice, job hunting and more.
BIMM students also get direct access to the largest alumni network in the industry, with graduate success stories including The Kooks, Tom Odell, James Bay, George Ezra, Marina Diamandis (Marina and the Diamonds), Ben Thompson (Two Door Cinema Club) and Adam Pitts (Lawson).
With credentials like these, it’s easy to see why BIMM is the UK and Europe’s most connected music college; and we continue to take pride in connecting our students to a life in music.
