The music industry is determined to tackle harassment, discrimination and bullying in the workplace.
The freelance nature of the workforce in the music industry, late night working and informal working environments such as tour buses, pubs and bars are some of the specific challenges the industry faces. There can also be significant power imbalance in many working relationships in the industry, which can be abused.
To tackle the issue, UK Music has been working closely with music industry leaders and campaigners holding and attending roundtable discussions and 1-2-1 meetings to facilitate an industry-wide response to the issue.
UK Music is working with Government to ensure the music industry is represented in discussions and is contributing to talks about how to ensure safe working environments for everyone.
