05/10/2020: BIMM Institute - one of UK Music's Music Academic Partnership (MAP) members - has announced it is offering a new service which sources new talent for the creative industries.
Talent Match – available from today (October 5) is a free recruitment service, which supports employers by providing immediate access to qualified talent whilst helping graduates of Europe’s largest, most connected music institute find employment in the creative industries.
The service is open to all employers who can offer paid, entry-level jobs in office support, artist management, events, journalism, social media, PR, copyright, sync, publishing, distribution, royalties, content creation, streaming, digital marketing and any other early careers opportunity.
The BIMM Talent Team will also help recruit for graduate internships, music teaching positions or broader work opportunities in the studio, production, sound engineering or live stream/tech support.
The service is being managed by BIMM’s Talent Manager, Catriona Lundie-Loggie, who draws on over 12 years of experience in recruiting into music, media and the arts.
“Right now, young people who are passionate about a career in music need all the support, direction and help we can give, which is why we’re offering a full employability service for our graduating students and alumni.
“In addition to offering CV and interview advice, we look at individual drivers and motivations to tailor a plan of action according to their needs.
“This means we can help make industry connections for them and provide employers with quick access to diverse, qualified candidates who have been interviewed by an industry professional”.
Shortlists will be drawn from a diverse talent pool, including students who have had varied student journeys to BIMM; from bursaries and scholarships to diplomas and degrees. All are keen to use their passion for music and skills across all areas of the creative industries.
BIMM are also committed to supporting any employers or trade bodies wishing to use funding from the Government's new Kickstart Scheme. It will be offering ongoing training and mentoring for all graduates on the scheme for their first year out of BIMM.
