UK Music will be heading to the Liberal Democrats Party Conference, where a panel of experts will discuss how to support and boost the music industry.

The panel line-up in Brighton will include Liberal Democrats MP for Guildford Zoe Franklin, who studied music at university, Liberal Democrats Peer and spokesperson for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport in the Lords, Baroness Bonham-Carter, musician and Liberal Democrats parliamentary candidate for Holborn and St Pancras at the 2024 election Charlie Clinton, and Managing Director of Revenge, a Brighton venue, Steve Jones. The panel will be chaired by UK Music Chief Executive Tom Kiehl.

The panel, entitled, How Can The Liberal Democrats Support And Boost The UK Music Industry?, will take place on Saturday September 14 from 13:00-14:30, at The Brighton Centre, Room 1B. Conference passes will be required.

The panel will focus on what’s required to ensure the future of the music industry is strong, including issues such as touring in the EU, AI, music education, exports and diversity and will offer the audience opportunities to ask questions to the experts. Refreshments will be provided.

UK Music will also be holding panel events at both the Labour conference in Liverpool and the Conservative conference in Birmingham.

At the Labour event on Monday September 23, the panellists are set to include Labour MPs Sharon Hodgson and Alex Sobel, along with Rebecca Ferguson and Michael Eakin.

At the Conservative event on Monday September 30, the panellists are set to include Conservative MP Caroline  Dinenage, Lord Parkinson, along with Lara Carmona. Both events will be chaired by Tom Kiehl.
