08.10.24: UK Music, the collective voice of the UK music industry, has launched the latest edition of the Music Education Directory (MED).
The Music Education Directory is a resource for everyone who is considering a Further Education or Higher Education course in the UK and Republic of Ireland.
Compiled by researchers from the University of West Scotland / Ariadne Research and supported by JAMES and UK Music, the MED provides an invaluable resource for anyone considering pursuing a music course.
The MED also shows links between music industry membership schemes and institutions to help potential students decide on the best options for them.
The Directory’s database is structured as follows:
- Firstly, by region (London, South of England, Midlands, Nth Eng, Scotland, Wales, Ireland).
- Then, by subject area (Business : music business and cultural theory, Creative : music performance and composition, Tech : music technology and production).
- Finally, by level of study (Higher Education – degree level, Further Education – college qualifications, training courses).
UK Music’s Director of Education & Skills UK Music Dr Oliver Morris said:
“We are really happy to be supporting the Music Education Directory again. Having such a comprehensive list of courses at your fingertips is a huge help for everyone considering their next steps.
“It is also very useful to highlight those institutions who have direct links with industry through our Music Academic Partnership (MAP), JAMES, and UK Music member membership schemes.”
