05.03.2021: The UK Music Futures intersectional sub group will be looking at intersectional issues affecting the music industry.

The sub-group is co-chaired by Leah Mack, who works at Sony Music Publishing Ltd and music manager Yasmin Lajoie.

Yasmin said:  “For International Women’s Day I’d like to champion an intersectional feminism that embraces and elevates disabled women, women of colour, trans women, lesbian and bisexual women and other women who have identities that are marginalising.

“The campaign for intersectional justice starts with how we communicate with one another. The words we use have impact.”

Yasmin has created an Intersectionality Guide, which can be found here.

The UK Music Futures Group was established in 2016 to give a platform to the next generation of future leaders in the industry. The Group is chaired by Amanda Maxwell. Find out more about the UK Music Futures Group here.
