UK Music backs the MOBO Awards

UK Music is backing the MOBO awards which will celebrate the best in urban music at the Leeds First Direct Arena next month.

Leeds City Council estimates that when the MOBO Awards was hosted in the city in 2015, it brought in £1.35m to the local economy through ticket sales and hotel bookings.

The MOBO (Music of Black Origin) Organisation was founded in 1996 to "champion and elevate urban music genres" in the mainstream music industry.

The full list of nominations can be found here.

The MOBOs follow the GRM Daily Rated Awards where the winners included Lethal Bizzle, Stormzy and Charlie Sloth. See full coverage here.
