04.06.2026: The British Music Embassy (BME) served up an incredible showcase of UK acts across two nights at SXSW London 2026, highlighting the diverse and pioneering talent at the heart of our world leading music industry.

Held at East London’s Devonshire Square (DSQ) on Tuesday June 2 and Wednesday June 3, the BME showcases delivered a stellar line-up of acts that spanned an eclectic array of genres and styles. Night one saw critically acclaimed artist Nadine Shah headline a bill that also included Michael Aldag, Venus Grrrls and Young Rebel Set, while night two saw Future Utopia – the artist project of multi-award winning producer and songwriter Fraser T Smith – top a line-up that featured CQ Wrestling, Precious Pepala and Daytime TV.

Commenting on the event, UK Music Chief Executive Tom Kiehl said: “This year’s BME programme at SXSW London was an amazing showcase for the phenomenal, diverse and pioneering talent that is the bedrock of our world leading music industry.

“Music contributes £8 billion to the UK economy, generates £4.8 billion in exports revenue and support 220,000 jobs, and showcases like this can play a vital role in driving growth across our sector for years to come.”

The British Music Embassy in London is a collaboration between the Department for Business & Trade (DBT), music licensing companies PPL and PRS for Music, UK record labels association the BPI (British Phonographic Industry), the British Council, the UK’s leading charitable funder of new music PRS Foundation, UK Music, and the Northern Music Export Office.

Now in its 19th year, the BME has become a mainstay at SXSW in Austin, having hosted shows for over 700 UK acts since 2008 and providing a platform for the likes of Olivia Dean, Sam Fender, Little Simz, Jungle, The 1975 and many more.
