UK Music welcomes government support for live music bill

The UK music industry today (March 7th) welcomes Government support for Lord Clement-Jones’ live music bill, following its second reading in the House of Lords on Friday March 4th. The private members bill seeks to exempt small venues from the need to obtain a licence for the performance of live music. It will now advance to Committee stage in the Lords.

UK Music's Cheif Executive Feargal Sharkey together with the Minister for Culture and the Creative Industries Ed Vaizey, have officially opened a Rehearsal Room in Nottingham, as part of the Rehearsal Room scheme. The centre, in the St Ann’s area of Nottingham, is one of 14 rehearsal spaces across the country. UK Music commissions bournemouth university to research the impact of music tourism

UK Music has announced that Bournemouth University will undertake extensive research into the economic impact of music to tourism in the UK. Staff from the University’s International Centre for Tourism and Hospitality Research will be joined on this project by colleagues from the Centre for Event and Sport Research and Market Research Group.
