UK Music hosted its ‘Music Industry Careers Day’ at Ministry of Sound on Wednesday 26th October 2016. Three hundred young people heard a special keynote from Ministry of Sound’s Marketing Director Naz Idelji. UK Music’s CEO Jo Dipple, Kelly Betts Production Manager at BBC Introducing, Bo-Dee Kelly Music Reporting Delivery Agent at PPL, Teriy Keys Artist Manager and CEO at R.O.A.D Entertainment, Emily Kendrick Production and Events Manager at XL Recordings and Paddy McLean Head of Streaming at Polydor Records sat on a panel discussing their career paths into the music industry and shared their top tips on how to gain a job in the sector.
The 14-20 year old attendees also had the chance to ‘Meet the Industry’ with Universal Music UK, Beggars Group, XL Recordings, Warner Music Group, Music Publishers Association, Musicians’ Union, The BRIT School, Urban Development, UK Youth/Big Music Project, Imagem Music, ATC Management amongst others.
Arit Eminue, CEO at DiVA discussed interview techniques and CV writing to help attendees take their first steps towards their career in the music industry.
