UK Music hosted an ‘Eight Days a Week – A Celebration of the UK Music Industry’ event during the Labour Party Conference on Tuesday 27th September. Shadow Secretary of State for DCMS MP Kelvin Hopkins and UK Music’s CEO Jo Dipple introduced the event which took place at the iconic venue ‘The Beatles Story’. A host of Labour politicians, peers and conferences goers joined to celebrate another successful year for UK music with the Beatles tribute band ‘The Mersey Beatles’. MP for Barnsley East Michael Dugher also took to the stage with the band for a rendition of ‘Hey Jude’.

Political attendees at the event included Labour Deputy Leader Tom Watson MP, Michael Dugher MP, Stephen Hepburn MP, Lucy Powell MP. Steve Rotheram MP, Conor McGinn MP, Jonathan Ashworth MP, Jeff Smith MP, Ian Lucas MP, Julie Elliott MP, Kerry McCarthy MP, Luciana Berger MP, Jessica Morden MP, Julie Cooper MP and Vicky Foxcroft MP.
