UK Music hosted a ‘Skills and Schools’ event at Dagenham Park High School on Friday 15th April 2016 with Dagenham and Rainham MP Jon Cruddas. Jon introduced the event at an assembly of 250 year-7 pupils. Jo Dipple CEO at UK Music, Teriy Keys (Smurfie Syco from Dizzee Rascal’s Dirtee Stank record label), international DJ and music producer Claire Spooner (Just Her) and singer Cilla Raie discussed the potential career paths in the music industry and gave advice on how to be successful in the sector.
Teriy Keys and Cilla Raie then led a song-writing workshop whilst Claire Spooner hosted a two hour music production session providing pupils with new skills and inspiring creativity in the lead up to their end of year assessments.
