A 500-strong audience enjoyed seeing Cabinet Ministers spin the decks at UK Music and TikTok’s 2025 Labour conference party in Liverpool to showcase the UK music industry.
UK Music Chief Executive Tom Kiehl kicked off the event by introducing the brilliant Heather Small who delighted the crowd with her set at the city’s Camp and Furnace venue on Tuesday night.
Then, a host of politicians took to the stage in a “Battle of the DJs” – with the audience, including Labour Students, cheering to decide the eventual winner.
Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy played a set consisting exclusively of Britney Spears, while Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson, Scottish Labour Leader Anas Sarwar, Labour MP Emily Thornberry, and West Yorkshire Mayor Tracy Brabin were among the other contenders.
However, the winner on the night was a delighted Chief Whip Jonathan Reynolds who carried off the trophy, leaving guests to dance late into the night.
