UK Music supports Nottingham Rehearsal Room

UK Music's Cheif Executive Feargal Sharkey together with the Minister for Culture and the Creative Industries Ed Vaizey, have officially opened a Rehearsal Room in Nottingham, as part of the Rehearsal Room scheme. The centre, in the St Ann’s area of Nottingham, is one of 14 rehearsal spaces across the country. Supported by UK Music and members of the Music Industries Association (MIA) who have donated cut-price instruments, the scheme was set up with a £500,000 fund from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS).

UK Music commissions Bournemouth University to research the impact of music tourism

UK Music has announced that Bournemouth University will undertake extensive research into the economic impact of music to tourism in the UK. Staff from the University’s International Centre for Tourism and Hospitality Research will be joined on this project by colleagues from the Centre for Event and Sport Research and Market Research Group.

UK Music wins bid to support leadership development network

UK Music is delighted to announce that it has won a bid to receive a £40,000 grant from the Cultural Leadership Programme to develop the UK Music Leadership Development Network.
