Additional Information about the centre:
Music Development
This can be done on a one to one basis, and in small or large groups.
We use a variety of methods including:
- Instrument tuition in; electric and acoustic guitar, electric bass guitar, kit and hand drumming, vocal tuition, basic keyboards.
- band coaching sessions,
- DJ and beat matching,
- composition and song-writing workshops
- Lyric writing and RAP development sessions.
- We specialise in Arabic and African drumming and currently have amongst our staff team two expert practitioners in these fields.
All of the above music based activities are tailored to suit the needs of the particular group/individual and can range from something as formal as 6-week developmental programmes or as informal one-off information sharing session.
Audio / Sound recording
We have two audio recording spaces. One is a traditional recording studio set-up with live room and control room. The other is a smaller studio set-up dedicated to the use of music software programmes such as Reason and Cubase, which can also be utilised to record audio.
Theatre Development
We have a fully equipped theatre performance space/venue available to hire with professional sound and lighting rigs. We hold monthly platform events were young artists can develop in front of a live audience. We also utilise other art forms such as Dance, Photography, Design and other forms of visual art.
