Feargal Sharkey, CEO UK Music
Feargal found fame as lead singer in The Undertones and later as a solo artist – enjoying some 12 years of world tours, hit albums, late nights and fine transport café cuisine. 

Hanging up his pop star boots, he successfully transferred to the business side of the industry, holding posts as A&R manager, record label MD, Member of the Radio Authority and Chair of the Live Music Forum. 

In February 2008, Feargal was appointed Chief Executive of British Music Rights. Eight months later, this role was expanded significantly with the creation of UK Music.

Jo Dipple - Senior Political Advisor
Former Daily Mirror hack and Head of Public Affairs at Trinity Mirror, Jo has extensive senior level experience of Downing Street, Whitehall and Government. She acted as Gordon Brown’s Press Secretary during the 2005 General Election before taking roles as Special Adviser to the Treasury and the SCU. 

Florian Koempel – Legal Counsel/ European Affairs
Florian is a lawyer qualified in Germany. After completing his LL.M. in Intellectual Property at London University, he joined British Music Rights in 2001.
His main area of expertise is international copyright law. Florian has been responsible for  British Music Rights/ UK Music activities on European level since 2003. He is the British Copyright Council representative at WIPO and a member of the Executive Committee of the British Literary and Artistic Copyright Association.

Adam Webb - Press & Communications Executive

A former journalist, Adam spent 7 years writing about music and technology for the likes of The Guardian, The Observer, Music Week, Music Ally and New Media Age. He is also a published author (Dumb Angel: The Life & Music of Dennis Wilson).

Sara Conway - Education and Skills Advisor
Sara has an extensive background in public affairs and policy development with wide-ranging experience of working from the public policy/political, commercial and educational perspectives.
As Secretary to Labour’s Industry Forum (1995-97), Sara helped co-ordinate dialogue and policy development between the Labour Party and UK industry across a wide range of industry sectors, including the embryonic creative industries task force, and cross-sectoral issues, including education and training. From 1997-99, she worked at a public affairs consultancy covering the retail, health, and creative/entertainment sectors. She has worked as a political and policy advisor to British Music Rights since 1999.

Sarah Coward - PA to CEO and Office Administrator
Sarah began her career as a runner for International Artists Theatrical Agency where she went on to become PA to the Head of Drama and Agents’ Assistant before securing a job as PA to the CEO of Malcolm Browning Management Ltd. She continues her career in the creative industries with UK Music.
